Promethean Touch Screen Not Responding
Issue:
A desktop PC, laptop, or other connected device is linked to the Promethean screen via HDMI. Although the device is actively broadcasting an image, the Promethean screen is not responding — no display appears or the screen remains inactive.
Possible Causes to Investigate:
• Incorrect HDMI input selected on the Promethean screen (e.g., HDMI1 vs HDMI3)
• Loose or faulty HDMI cable connection
• Resolution mismatch between device and screen
• Promethean screen settings not properly configured
• Screen may require a manual source refresh or power cycle
• Check that the 'Touch' button is on and the 'Freeze' button is off.
Known Fix Step:
Check for Visual Driver Updates via Windows Update
1. Open Settings on the local machine.
2. Navigate to Windows Update.
3. Click on Advanced Options.
4. Select Optional Updates.
5. Look for any available visual/display driver updates.
6. If found, install them — this typically resolves touch screen responsiveness and calibration issues.
